Helen Saltos

Helen SaltosHelen currently performs as a freelance artist, sharing her voice and personality in varied performances ranging from singing for private functions, weddings, corporate events and recordings, through to event comparing and early childhood music education.

Helen is a professionally trained opera singer and graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium Opera School. She has spent many years in London performing in opera, recital and corporate and private events and was both associate director and First Lady in the Bloomsbury Festival production of Mozart’s The Magic Flute.

Helen has worked for many years with Opera Australia touring as well as singing at the Sydney Opera House and the Melbourne Arts Centre.

In Australia, Helen performed the role of Lucy in Menotti’s The Telephone for the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA), and the role of Thérèse in Poulenc’s Les Mamelles de Tirésias in the Australian premiere of that opera. Other performance experience includes concerts and oratorio in Australia and the South Pacific, TV appearances and special event entertainment.

Helen has also taught singing and music to adults and children in Australia and the UK and has been passionate about bringing music to children in schools and even to the youngest children for many years.

Helen’s awards include the George and Nerissa Johnson Bequest (awarded by Opera Australia) the Helpman family scholarship, the Geoffrey Rothwell scholarship, the Doris Smith Scholarship and various aria and song competitions in Australia.
