In-Conversation: Ian Munro & Carl Vine 8 Nov 2011 The City of Sydney Library is delighted to invite you to attend this special event. Join Carl Vine in conversation with Ian Munro, as they talk about Ian’s life as a pianist, award-winning composer, his writing, blogging and more. Musica Viva’s 2011 Featured Composer Ian Munro is one of Australia’s most distinguished and awarded musicians, with a career that has taken him to thirty countries across the globe. In 2003, Ian’s first large-scale composition Dreams for solo piano and orchestra won the composition strand of the Queen Elisabeth International Competition in Brussels. As Musica Viva’s Featured Composer for 2011, two of Ian’s works have already been performed this season by the Eggner Trio and the Brentano String Quartet, with another still to come later in the year: Ian’s Clarinet Quintet, Songs from the Bush (2010) to be performed by Sabine Meyer and the Modigliani String Quartet in November.
