Sydney Conservatorium of Music Ensembles Studies Unit – “The
Glebe Society Concert” preceded by carillon recital in the quadrangle.

Michelangeli Ensemble: James Kortum (flute), Mirabai Peart (violin), Valmai

Concert of serenades: Beethoven (flute, violin,
viola); Knudåge Riisager (flute, violin, cello); Vincent Persichetti
(flute, harp); work for violin and harp; Albert Roussel Serenade for Quintet
op. 30.

Lyon String Trio. French violinist
Julien Dieudegard, Belgian violist Nathan Braude and Australian cellist
Martin Smith will also be touring with Music Viva.

And for those who enjoyed hearing the soprano Donna Cain at the
Glebe Music Festival in 2005, Donna will be staging a concert on Saturday
Oct 31st 2009, 7.30pm at North Sydney's beautiful and historic The
Independent Theatre.
The concert features some very talented professional opera singers (sopranos,
contralto, tenor), a smooth jazz crooner and great jazz instrumentalists
with very well known jazz standards, favourite opera arias, duets, opera
trios etc. There will even be an Italian tenor with a very powerful "Caruso"
type of voice!
From Billie Holiday to Frank Sinatra, from the Andrews Sisters to Ella
Fitzgerald, to favourite" opera arias such as The Bell Song from
Lakme, Summertime by Gershwin, Nessun Dorma - this concert is sure to
be a very entertaining evening.
