Nicole Smeulders: mezzo soprano

Nicole Smeulders, a graduate of the NSW Conservatorium of music, divides her time between singing and coordinating the Junior School Music Program at Ravenswood School for Girls. She has performed as soloist in Oratorio and Opera for many companies, including the Orange and Newcastle Conservatoriums, Rockdale
Opera, Sydney University Graduates' Choir and the Taverner Consort of Voices. Last December, Nicole performed the alto solos in the Combined Churches' Messiah at the Sydney Town Hall.

Nicole began work with the Song Co. this year, performing in several concerts, including one to mark Nigel Butterley's 70th Birthday and an Australian Heritage performance, both of which were recorded for the ABC. She also toured extensively throughout country NSW, as part of the Song Co.'s school education program. Nicole has worked with other prominent ensembles, including the Opera Australia Chorus, ACO Voices and Cantillation.
